#6 of 10 hotels in Llangollen based on Tripadvisor

6.6/10

I had the most beautiful view of the River Dee from my room, but the noise from people coming and going early in the morning was a bit bothersome. The room felt overpriced for its quality due to some fumes. However, the proximity to the Main Street and the River Dee was lovely, and it was great to have a drink in the gardens overlooking the river.

Rooms
7.0
Despite the noise from early-morning activities and the overpriced feel, the room had the most beautiful view of the River Dee.
Service
5.0
The service was a bit disappointing with staff making me feel a bit second class and lacking professionalism, except for the restaurant manager who kept apologizing. Communication barriers were present, which affected the check-in experience.
Location
8.0
Walking to the Main Street and the River Dee was a pleasant experience, and the hotel's central location near the river and Main Street was convenient.
Dining
6.0
The dining experience had its flaws with some poorly managed aspects and staff behavior issues, but the buffet style breakfast had well-cooked, good quality food.
Facilities
7.0
The facilities were decent overall, but improvements in service quality and communication are necessary.

The hotel is situated perfectly for all that Llangollen has to offer, providing superb access to the area but could benefit from some updating. While the noise levels were high, causing disruptions, the location offers a great escape from the tourist crowds.

Rooms
6.0
The rooms were basic, and although fairly spacious, one of the beds was uncomfortable due to an older mattress and some maintenance issues like loose toilet seat and limited TV channels were noticeable.
Service
8.0
The service worked extremely well, considering the circumstances, and the staff were accommodating and friendly. The advice on noise levels, although necessary, was given politely.
Location
7.0
The location is great for exploring Llangollen, within walking distance to key attractions, but the late-night noise levels were disruptive, impacting the overall experience.
Dining
7.0
The dining experience was good with a variety of options available, though some improvements could make it even better, like starting breakfast earlier on Sundays.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel offers a self-service buffet dining option, and additional facilities like room service, housekeeping, and pet amenities are available.

My stay at the hotel was mixed. The rooms were clean and comfortable, but there was a strong smell of fresh paint in the first room and the housekeeping started stripping sheets early. The service was excellent with polite staff and good outdoor seating options. The location was convenient, close to the town center and river, but the fish and chips from a nearby place were disappointing. The dining experience, although included in the price, could do with some improvements in furniture and cooking. Overall, it was a good stay with friendly staff and a central location.
